The photo shows (left to right) Pauline Kelly, Garry Norman and Keith Gould presenting the trophy and a cheque for ₤450 for the NSPCC to James Milner.
James was chosen as Player of the Season following his effort and industry last season when he topped the appearances charts with 46 starts and 7 substitute appearances during which he scored 4 goals. Signed for ₤5M by Sir Bobby from Leeds when that Club went into financial meltdown, James was at one time the youngest Premiership goalscorer and currently holds the record number of England caps at Under 21 level.
The Supporters' Club presented James with the cheque for ₤450 following a collection on the train which raised ₤225 and was then rounded up by the Club to ₤450. The money goes to James nominated charity, the NSPCC and represents a magnificent contribution and achievement by the Supporters' Club. The presentation was made immediately before the Blackburn game on May 5th.
